Boarding

Residential life for the Aquinas boarders is warm and comfortable. It is also vigorous and energetic-as you would expect with so many people from vastly different backgrounds! Students from all over Western Australia, Australia and overseas come together during term time to create a truly vibrant environment.

Our three boarding houses give students the opportunity to develop a sense of identity and belonging, while still being part of the broader school community. Attending school as a boarder is, for many, their first experience of living away from home. Regardless, most students adapt very quickly and soon appreciate their new friendships and fun. This rapid adaptation is facilitated through a strong sense of family and mutual support, fostered in every aspect of residential life.

Life long friendships are developed by both boys and their parents and guardians. To be a boarder is a very special part of growing up and for the rest of their lives, boys benefit from this shared experience. Safety is a priority and the boys are part of a happy community. The boarding community provides a very special environment in which young men live and grow.

The students in the College's care enrich the community enormously by the diversity of their own individual backgrounds. Boarding offers special opportunities for young men-to learn the values of sharing and respect, to have the time to know and appreciate other people from different backgrounds, and to mature and develop close friendships with their peers.
